Reliving the Rhythm With Batuku Cultural Movement Workshop – A Night To Connect Through Music!
On May 9th, Jak’s World Suicide Prevention Charity proudly hosted a vibrant Batuku Cultural Movement Workshop at the St. Clement’s Church in Ordsall, Salford. The evening was full of energy, rhythm, and rich cultural expression, as participants were guided through the sound and spirit of Batuku — a traditional Cape Verdean music and dance form.
Led by Tania the group facilitator, the session offered not only music, but an exploration of tone, rhythm, connection, and cultural heritage. Attendees were immersed in the soulful beats, expressive movements, and uplifting atmosphere that made the experience both unique and enjoyable.
The feedback was also heart-warming — participants found the workshop not only engaging but also healing and grounding, connecting their minds and bodies in a joyful, creative way. The shared rhythm created a sense of community that transcended words.
At Jak’s World, we value the power of culture, creativity, and togetherness in promoting mental well-being. This workshop was a beautiful reminder that healing can come through movement, music, and shared human expression.
We thank everyone who joined us for the special night and the Batuku facilitators who had brought us all together via the rhythm of Batuku. Lusoconnectionuk Salford CVS #livewell #socialvalue #salford
