Jak’s World Meditation

On the evening of 23 February 2026 at 7.30 pm, we held a meditation session as part of Jak’s World’s Hopeful Horizons – Winter Edition. This time, I fostered a deeper understanding of what really accounts for a sense of community.

Tonight’s session was supposed to be a sound bath session, but for some reason, the sound therapist could not be here with us. This had little effect on our experience. We had 13 participants for meditations, I suppose it was the largest group I ever participated in. We sat in a circle with cozy sofa and warm pillows, and in the middle of the circle, there was an electric heater.

As the meditation began, we closed our eyes and followed Jack’s instructions. I envisaged trees, grasslands, and fishes swum across the river, emptying my mind. Then, Ronak, the founder of Jak’s World, played Tibetan singing bowls for us, as another form of sound therapy. Every knock on the bowels created long-lasting sound waves, which absorbed my tiredness and overwhelmingness. I felt reinvigorated afterwards.

What we had tonight validates that the professionalism of approaches may be less important; what matters is that we all stay warm and cozy in a rainy evening, in a space where it is one hundred per cent safe to ease our nerves down and reconnect with each other.
